Channeling Black Thought, Big Greezy returns with his long-awaited new EP ‘V.I.H.F.’, which stands for Versatility in High Frequency. The album features varied production styles from the album-opener ’16 Breaths’ and its synth-heavy production to ‘Fucked in the Game’ with its simplified old-school drum and bass beat. Greezy also accomplishes a rare feat, as moments in this album capture a killer ‘live off the floor’ feeling.

No bling. No bitches. This is hip-hop with a message.
Choruses seem like an afterthought for Greezy. They’re short and simple, and act merely as a tool for him to get back into doing what he does best and that’s killing it in his verses. While Greezy references things like the Trayvon Martin shooting, don’t mistake that for an album full of overtly serious subject matter. Greezy raps with a purpose but still has fun with his lyrics, referencing pop-culture gems like Street Fighter, Steven Colbert, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Eddie Murphy’s ‘The Golden Child’.

Hip-Hop in its Simplest Form
Those looking for a hodgepodge of rappers playing off each other won’t find what they’re looking for, nor will they find any clever samples used to prop up weak tracks.
